The Sheiling and Meikle Conval are new self contained wooden chalets and can be found in one of Scotland’s most beautiful Glens. Situated half way between Aberdeen and Inverness near the southern end of Moray. Glenrinnes stretches for some 10 miles from Dufftown, Scotland’s whisky capital to Glenlivet in the south.
Rising majestically to the North of the Glen is Ben Rinnes famous for its easy ascent to the Summit (1 ½ hrs) and its magnificent views over Lower Moray, the waters of the Moray Firth and on to the hills of Caithness, Sutherland can be seen in the far distance to the north and Cairngorm mountains to the south.
Corrieour Log Cabins are situated on the B9009 Dufftown and to Tomintoul road which is part of Scotland’s famous ‘Whisky Trail’. Tomintoul 14 miles away is often referred to in winter road reports “The Cock-Bridge to Tomintoul road is impassable again because of drifting snow”.
Dufftown 5 miles away boasts of having 7 hills and 7 stills (distilleries) producing millions of litres of whisky a year which when matured is exported to nearly every country in the world.
The town has 2 whisky festivals a year one in May and the other in September which are very popular with people from all over the world.
The local area has some very good restaurants and carry-out facilities with a wide choice of Scottish and International cuisine. Ancient Castles, Distillery visits, Short and long distance walking, Golfing, Skiing and exploring the stunning Scottish countryside along with evening entertainments including whisky nosing, ceilidhs and a weekly stramash (evening of traditional music) are all within easy access.
